Oh….. The Things We are not ready for

Brushes, Make Up, and Good Ol Lipstick

Now hang on a sec…

I knew that becoming a mom to a daughter I would eventually have to deal with the make up thing. What I was not ready for is the timing. About a year ago my youngest started dancing and with that came the make up. Now it may seem that I am blaming dance for this early entry into the beauty world, I am definately not. The make up was being used due to recital purposes. Soon after my daughter started playing in make up heavy. It was to the point that we were buying make up sets for christmas. It was then I figured that we may have a little problem on our hands.

Beauty doesn’t sleep

This make up thing had developed into something way bigger. My daughter started to not sleep as much during the night. By the morning she would be wiped out with dark make up from forehead to chin. It was really funny but I had to let her know that this was not okay. We all need sleep or else how could we function and be our best? For a little while I thought that maybe it had worked but of course we still had the occasional rebellion. A lot of people say this happens once a child gets older but I beg to differ.

Fast Forward>>> Stop Live Pink

Now here we are at the age of 5 and we have been without the make up for almost a year and for some crazy reason it’s happening again. Only difference her is that she is a little older and understands a great deal more. I happen to over hear this constant bickering back and forth. Hmmm, I’m going to go see what is all the fussing about. I get in the room only to realize that zanai is wearing lipstick. She looks at me and I look at her, and she asks me “Mommy where is my kitty lipstick”.

Curiously funny

It always strikes me as odd how kids can just overlook the fact that they are wrong and just carry on with the normal. It’s funny yet interesting to me. At this point I’m like okay and just started laughing. No I’m not crazy but it just dawned on me that rather sooner than later this should be addressed. This is my moment, right here right now. Why, what is the harm in leaving them be when the want do play make up? Some people frown upon this but they learn to live with it, after all this is your life.

Don’t let what other people think influence your way of life

Dear quarantine, I’ve Lost Count

Forever Cautious

I thought that just to be safe if we did go to a trail it would have to be a trail with not a lot of people. So i’m thinking well because all this caous is going on with covid the trails would be scarce. Obviously I was wrong, and o we ended up going to two trails. When we arrived at the first one I felt it was too crowded and I am all about protecting my little’s. I decided we can just go to another one no biggie. Luckily I remembered this little trail nestled within my neighborhood that is safe enough for kids. So that is where we went, and the kids loved it.

Let it Soar

As we explored the park I could see the excitement and curiousity all over there faces. Then you look at me and I have this like stuck confused plastered look on my face because I’m in mommy survival mode. I had to learn the hard way that everything doesn’t have to be so serious. I did encourage them to explore different things that I knew would not be harmful to them. We had a chance to learn about Rocks, Rivers, and Creeks.

Covid Nature says You Suck!

I mean this is really beginning to suck. Being cooped up in the house for fear of getting sick. This pandemic has really hit below the belt. Now as we sit around waiting for some good news we have to be proactive. For us who has children we have to be twice that. In the beginning I had huge ideas that we can do being as though I thought this would be over soon. I soon found that out the hard way as I’m sure many of us did. Being as though I am a nature mind and I love taking nature and wildlife photography I decided that we should incorporate trails in our day. We normally commit to doing these anyway because our kids love them and me too.

Safe Trails?

Are trails safe right now with covid going on? Yes, I mean it’s simply you being out in nature no playgrounds or anything. Not unless you are expecting to be sneezed on by a tree. I think your good to go.

Exercise and Education?

Triumphant

Being as though kids are no in school this is an awesome way to tie science and physical education together. I always up for a two for one deal.

There is nothing wrong with a little nature run. At the end of this road with be much more fun.
