Quarantine|with the Husband

I know a lot of woman will agree when I say that this quarantine has been hell. I knew that in the beginning it was going to be hard when my husband had to stay home. Hard in the terms of he has ADHD and so he has to stay active or he becomes a Nagitha Kristie. Just yap yap yap. We generally avoid this but being as though we literally have nothing to do. We are stuck and so we have been trying to cope with everything.

Then you throw kids in the mix its hell on wheels but at least they keep him occupied for the most part. You know how sometimes when people get stuck with each other for a long period of time. They start to get on each others nerves, now I know some people that would beg to differ. (appearances) I am going to be bluntly honest, my husband has been driving me up a wall. At first I couldn’t make sense of it because when he was always at work I missed him. Then I was kinda complaining because I did miss him. Now I have come to realization that we have just been stuck in the same place each other. There is absolutely the worst thing ever if I watch another Netflix stream I might just lose my eyes.

Now we have come up with different things to help keep us busy during quarantine. Its not as bad as before, I wanted to Bart Simpson strangle him. For him annoying me is all in good fun. Sometimes he complains that I need to smile more. Obviously my husband is the playful overboard. He always means well and always makes me smile so I’m good there.

I hope that after quarantine when things get moving again. We can get back to where we were. Until then I can make it, he’s not going to get my sanity lol. Once moms lost it dads not far behind. 😜

Fitness On The Horizon

So here I am once again awake although I can say that my mind is racing. There’s nothing wrong with letting your mind wander. One thing that keeps popping up is fitness.

Don’t Let Your Mind Get The Best Of You

I know I want to be healthy and fit but this journey is not so much about me but more so my husband. He is trying to lose weight, me being me I said let’s do this. I mean I have been wanting to workout for quite sometime. So we are going to see this through

Although I am weighing in at only 135lbs which is a steady weight of like forever. I cant seem to catch a break in the fluctuation department not that I’m complaining. I still have some baby weight I would like to work off.

Experience This

I share the great news about the diet plan and fitness goals for my husband and I. I cant help but icer hearing a faint voice reply yea like you butt needs it. I am aware that it may have been meant as a compliment but it could go both ways. My goal here is not to lose weight but work on my body physically, and to be that support beam for my husband every step of the way.

When you are working out with you partner you have to keep in mind to be supportive. Not the smothering kind this also goes for motivation. Yes there is a such thing as motivational smothering. Sometimes we as woman feel like we are being caring and compassionate. The guys like trying to run from being coddled. So be very mindful of this nothing’s good beyond this point.

Littles Sleep, Biggs Up

So we are literally driving and I’m talking to my kids but I’m not getting any feedback. So my husband and I are like are they sleep? His guess is as good as mine. Of course I’ll check because dads driving that excludes him from mom duties right.

To our surprise they were all sleeping which is odd but they were probably tired. So this is like a never happening thing and now me and my husband are looking like what now.

What do you do when the kids are asleep and it’s just you and dad. I dont believe that we have given that any thought because this is like never for us. So now we have to think of something fun.

Bullies In The School

How many of us have experienced some kind of bullying amongst children whether it be our own children or some one else’s. I tend to see this a lot and it really bothers me although I know that they are just kids I can’t help but wonder why they would want to bully others in the first place. In this case it’s not so much about why but how are they able to bully with adults being present.

This is an ongoing problem in schools everywhere not just a general area. Most schools have chosen not to tolerate it while other schools tend to look the other way so to speak. My daughter attends a nice school where they teach a variety of different languages. She loves school and talks about nothing else literally. As of late I have seen a dramatic change in her when she arrives at school in the mornings. She is way less talkative then normal and she seems down not the normal motivated little person that I see everyday.

I mean to any parent that’s a hard question to ask yourself because the next question is almost like how could I not have known this was happening. It’s okay it’s not your fault sometimes when there is a lot going on we tend to overlook things not intentionally but it happens. Try not to beat yourself up about this the only question that should be on your brain is how can I help, prevent, and stop this.

I happened to catch some things that were odd to me, but if you see a difference in your child or something that would lead you to believe they may be being bullied. Don’t overlook the signs if they are there.

Signs of Bullying

There is a wide variety of signs that your child could display from bullying other than verbally expressing it. There is no one that knows your child better than you, and you can tell whether or not they may be acting strange. I just want to make you aware that there are other things as well so don’t just limit yourself to one thing.

Signs

  • Lack of enthusiasm for school
  • Stomach Aches
  • Headaches
  • Hanging with a different crowd
  • Trouble getting sleep
  • Crying
  • Dramatic emotional reactions
  • Less Family Time
  • Withdraw from electronics

All of this may seem like nothing but just looking at this list I can pick out at least two of the actions being the ones my daughter displayed. What should I do now, address the situation of course. Everything starts from the top and works it’s way down the line.

If your child is in fact being bullied at school I would start with the school

  • Speak to your child’s teacher
  • Address issue with administrators
  • Contact the school board

Sometimes when you talk to the teacher at times it can be swept under the rug or overlooked. Maybe the teacher is unable to handle all of the children within his care without help. Then the solution to that would be to get a volunteer or a teachers aide.

If you go to administration you have a chance of actually being heard and getting you issue across. Or maybe what you say will fall on deaf ears, you must always expect the unexpected. I’m not saying to just go straight above their heads, at least give them a chance to fix the issue. If nothing changes and in fact may be getting worst then I would encourage you to contact the school board.

Mommy The Night Owl

So let me just start off by saying I’m really not sure as to why I am up. I am no where near sleepy which is slightly odd but not a big thing. I do wonder do other moms experience this crazy nights of less sleep. Maybe it’s not common amongst woman and or men but hey I cant speak for everyone. For a minute there I had this thought that maybe it could be insomnia but then I just rid myself of that idea.

It is a widely used term that refers to persistent problems falling and staying asleep. In most cases people who do in fact have insomnia may not feel like they get enough sleep in the least bit.

What Are Some Causes

  • just plain poor sleep habits

This list also shows the most common problems that both an woman deal with today. We all have experienced one or more. What does that mean exactly nothing, that’s what it means. Everything does not call for a label and or medication, maybe you just need to focus on what could be causing you to lose sleep. What ever the case may be I simply just cannot get back to sleep and so because this has been happening more often then I would like. I thought of things that I can do at night while my family is asleep.

Night Owl Activities

When you are the only one up at night after a while you start to think to yourself maybe I can train myself to get back into the swings of things. You know maybe get your schedule back on track, but no such luck. When that doesn’t work out what do you do exactly, fun activities you got it.

So here are some of the fun productive things that I like to do while the family is sleeping.

I know it may sound boring but to me it is quite time consuming and helps time fly past for me. It actually works in my favor because when my kids are up and about it becomes a tad bit harder to concentrate. Specially when your a mother or father to more than one child.

In most cases there is help without even visiting a physician the all natural way. Tea yes tea I know what you thinking but tea helps to calm the body down making it easier for you to get to sleep. Other wise you will simply just be tossing and turning and then your anxiety levels will go up. So lets get up and get relaxed so we can get back to a peaceful nights rest.

What Now

Well the answer to that is simple I am going to find one of the awesome things on my list that I can work on while I have a vast amount of free time. Working on things on your own time also gives you piece of mind and you don’t have to constantly worry. Like ask yourself questions such as why am I stressed or depressed,etc. How can I fix this, what options do I have? This is not one of those huge issues where you want to go screaming for the hills, this is something that will in fact pass but until then we can share our crazy wacky late night hobbies.

A lot of people have said to me I am so overwhelmed because I am anxious for my baby but nervous at the same time. How will this process go, what should I bring for my hospital stay. That right there is the million dollar question. Everyone is different and so you wants may be different but your necessities will remain the same.

Swaddle

This is a blanket but not just any blanket, this is the blanket that moms absolutely love. Why is this you may ask? It allows you to cuddle your baby without physically doing it. The blanket allows your baby to feel as though he\she is still in your arms. (The cuddle method but without mom)

Hat

The hat is to keep the babies head warm obviously but also food for thought how do you think your baby would feel without one. Generally your hospital may even provide you with the colorful knit hats.

This is of the upmost importance because your baby cannot travel let alone leave the hospital without one. The car seat and the base provides you child comfort while protecting your baby as well. Robe

This is not an absolute must but some moms prefer to have robes when getting up out of the bed, and some woman don’t. This is exclusively up to you as to whether or not you need this.

Outfit

Now after being in the hospital for days and days after delivering your little one you will be confined to your pj’s for a period of time, you will want to get out of them asap. So this is where you outfit comes into play this is your comfy I had a baby clothes, and trust me you will need this unless your traveling with Pj.

Comfy Shoes

After you have a baby sometimes your feet will hurt especially if you gained a little fluid due to your baby. You are going to walk around in comfy shoes that will really support you foot.

Nursing Bra

Nursing bra’s are mainly for my mama’s that breastfeed and word to the wise moms I would get a bra that benefits you. Amazon has some good choices and you can check the reviews but do you research you want stability,comfort, and access.

Breast Pads

These bad boys are worth every penny they prevent your breast from leaking, I mean who wants a messed up blouse. Think of it this way which is cheaper yet efficient, which way will cost you more money, right so we are on the same page.

Nipple Cream

This provides you with comfort for your girls, breastfeeding can be hard on a mother. Trust me you are going to want this. There are a different variety of items so check the kind that is a preference for you.

We all get hungry during our overnight stay in the hospital and sometimes we have no patience. Waiting on a nurse can be tedious but some moms prefer this, having snacks on hand will cure those late night cravings.

If you are a parent like me then you know that you will eventually get to this point in your life where your child starts teething . No, we are never ready for the simple things when it comes to children but hey we are all learning. We don’t just become the best parent overnight that would probably take a life time. Anyway let’s discuss the teething stage.

Is My Baby Teething?

Telling whether or not your baby is teething can be the easiest thing to figure out or the hardest being as though the symptoms do not show up in each individual baby but at lest one does.

Some of the symptoms that you might experience is,

The breakdown is simple the lower set tends to press through before the upper set. The first set of upper and lower molars begin to push through well erupt if you will, between the ages of 13 -19 months. Canine teeth erupt  in both the upper and lower jaws

This is nothing big and although we as moms have a preference as to our little ones and nursing them back to health but I’m going to share some tips with you to make this easier for everyone.

  • Rub your babies gums (clean finger or moistened gauze pad your preference)
  • Chill Out. A cold spoon or a chilled teething ring can be a beneficial factor on keeping your baby comfortable
  • Hard Foods it makes nibbling all the more fun
  • Keep bibs on hand for those long drool days
  • Try over the counter remedy

How long does it take for babies teeth to full come in?

Years!

Yes I said years to be more specific your babies teeth will not fall out until his permanent ones are ready to come in. This is generally around 6, 7 years of age. So knowing what you know now you will be okay.
